The North Wales multiplex currently carries the following services:
- BBC Radio Wales
- BBC Radio Cymru (and BBC Radio Cymru 2)
- Capital FM Cymru
- Capital FM North Wales
- Smooth Radio
- Nation Radio
- Dragon Radio
There are no current plans to add any further services in the short-term. If there are any stations that you listen to at the moment on analogue radio that we are not broadcasting, we suggest that you contact those stations directly, encouraging them to join the multiplex.
We do, however, currently have room for additional stations to join the multiplex. If you represent a service that would like more information about joining, please submit the questionnaire at the bottom of this page.
In North Wales 36.0% of radio listening is to digital radio. 43.0% of the area have DAB sets in-home.
Data: RAJAR/OFCOM Q3/2015
The multiplex broadcasts from transmitters at;
- Holyhead South Stack
- Nebo S
- Penmaen Rhos
Coverage map: Outdoor
Due to international frequency constraints transmitters are grouped on two separate frequencies, with Arfon, Llanddona, Amlwch Nebo and Holyhead South on 10D and Conway, Penmaen Rhos and Gwaebysgor on 12D. Some car radios may have trouble dynamically switching between the two transmitters – a work around is to set two presets for your favourite stations, one for each frequency.
Other transmitters may be launched during the licence term to enhance and increase coverage.
The multiplex is owned by MuxCo North Wales Ltd, and launched on 12th December 2014
