Driving from Filey to the North/West Yorkshire boarder on the A64 whilst listening to tests 1, 2 & 3 (Minster, Stray & BBC York).
Although pretty clear in Filey, with few drops, once on the A64, it was very hit and miss. Parts of the drive were completely lost and this included the Malton bypass, a major listening area for Minster and BBC York.
There were also drops on the A64 whilst passing York.
My DAB receiver is a factory fit Sony in a 12 plate Ford and has no issues with the Leeds transmitter, which can be heard faultlessly all the way to Malton!
Hope these test transmissions are here to sort these problems out, because as it is, it’s hardly worth calling it a ‘North Yorkshire’ transmitter, more a ‘no more than a few miles from each relay’ transmitter.
Best wishes anyway, sure it can only get better. 🙂
