As - [Building the MuxCo Network](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2008/02/25/building-the-muxco-network/) - With five multiplexes in the bag we thought we'd ask our transmitter company, National Grid, to do us a map of all the prospective multiplexes. They say a picture paints a thousand words and it certainly does in this case. Gregory was showing the map off in the office like a proud father. Obviously - [Mid and West Wales Submission ](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2008/02/20/mid-and-west-wales-submission/) - Yesterday we submitted our application for the Mid and West Wales multiplex licence (a day early!) with partners in the area - Town and Country Broadcasting Ltd. We are very pleased, especially for the common service providers who are on both Hereford & Worcestershire - [Facebook Fans](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/12/19/facebook-fans/) - You could describe some of the staff here at MuxCo towers as 'radio anoraks', we try and conceal it, but sometimes you just have to have a quick round of 'Name That TSA', don't you? We've never been shy to have geeky chats with other enthusiasts, so we thought it was right that we set - [Ofcom Advertises Surrey and Sussex](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/12/19/ofcom-advertises-surrey-and-sussex/) - Ofcom, this morning, have advertised the new licence for Surrey and Sussex. Nicky's an incredibly experienced Multiplex Manager - [Oxford Licence](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/11/08/oxford-licence/) - It's disappointment all round here at MuxCo towers, as the news was revealled that NOWdigital had won the digital licence for Oxfordshire. We believed (and still do) that our application had the widest choice of services for listeners, so we're a bit down that Ofcom awarded it to the other bidder. Obviously, we're pressing on - [Gloucestershire](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/10/24/gloucestershire/) - We agreed at lunch that Gloucestershire was application number seven for MuxCo. It's been an interesting one to do, partly because of its proximity to Hereford and Worcester which Ofcom awarded to MuxCo last month. In fact, we think it provides a great opportunity for the stations that broadcast on both multiplexes as it grows - [Northampton](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/10/11/northampton/) - Congratulations to NOWdigital on the award of the local multiplex licence for Northampton. Both of the applications shared many similar services so hopefully it will be a good selection of stations when the multiplex launches. Time for a quick drink and then on with writing our North Yorkshire application. - [Oxfordshire Bidders](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/08/08/oxfordshire-bidders/) - It's always interesing to see the other bidder's line-up when the Ofcom press release comes out. In case you haven't i've shown it below. On the left is the NOWdigital bid, on the right is the MuxCo bid, the highlighted area is 'the MuxCo difference'. - [Oxfordshire](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/08/07/oxfordshire/) - It's just coming up to three o'clock, which is the customary time for me to write a blog post about the latest application to go in. Oxfordshire's been an interesting one to work on, a few ups and downs, but we're incredibly pleased with what we've just submitted, we think it's our best line-up yet. - [London DAB Capacity Available](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/07/17/london-dab-capacity-available/) - It doesn't happen very often, so I think it's worth a mention here. NOWdigital has advertised that there's some available capacity on the London 3 multiplex owned by GCap, UTV, SMG and Carphone Warehouse. They don't say how much capacity, but they're asking potential operators to download an application form and return it to the - [Channel 4's Win](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/07/06/channel-4s-win/) - Congratulations to Channel 4 and 4digitalgroup on the award of the new national digital radio multiplex. It's good to see Ofcom award the licence to a new entrant to digital radio, and also acknowledge the benefits of having service providers as shareholders. Both applicants (4DG and NGW) bid with ambitious proposals to take digital radio - [Northamptonshire](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/07/03/northamptonshire/) - Northampton is the latest stop on our multiplex journey with a fine line-up and a mystery additional service provider. Ooooooohhhhhh. When putting together an application you run up against some interesting problems. The main issue is the closing date. It often causes problems with potential partners as if they take part in your bid publicly - [Boo. ](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/06/12/boo/) - Big sighs at MuxCo HQ as we've just found out that we've sadly not been awarded the licence for Herts, Beds and Bucks. It's instead been awarded to GCap subsidiary NOWdigital. Congratulations to Matt and Nicky at NOWdigital for putting together a winning application. Succesful or not however, we believe strongly in our model for - [At the Digital Radio Show](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/06/11/at-the-digital-radio-show/) - Today I am at the third Digital Radio Show in London. The show, which is on for two days, has focused on making a business from digital radio this morning, with a European perspective this afternoon. Day 2 looks at developments such as DAB+ and Mobile TV. Highlights, apart from a very good shepherds pie - [Hereford & Worcester](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/06/06/hereford-worcester/) - Its the 6th June and the sun is shining, so hopefully this now marks the start of summer. For us it mark's the closing date for applications for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire multiplex, something MuxCo Hereford & Worcester Ltd has submitted its application for. Behind the bid, alongside us, are Town & Country and local - [Northeast Wales and West Cheshire is in!](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/05/09/northeast-wales-and-west-cheshire-is-in/) - We've given ourselves the afternoon off here at MuxCo HQ as we've just submitted our application for the Northeast Wales and West Cheshire DAB Digital Radio licence. It's an interesting area as we're able to cover a decent stretch of Liverpool as well as Northeast Wales and West Cheshire. This is good news for the - [MuxCo is Live](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/03/30/muxco-is-live/) - It's been a busy few months but we've finally gone public with MuxCo. Our application for the Herts, Beds and Bucks multiplex will be the first of many bringing, we hope, a new way of doing local digital radio. As you can see from our Herts, Beds and Bucks page we've got a different kind - [No MuxCo Derby?](http://www.muxco.com/blog/2007/04/17/no-muxco-derby/) - Yesterday was the closing date for the Derby local multiplex and as you might have noticed there was no bid by MuxCo. When bidding for a licence the key thought you have to have is "will we win". If you don't think you can win you'll be wasting yours (and your shareholder's) money.
